Chair’s Message

Welcome to the Ontario Physicians and Surgeons Discipline Tribunal website. The Tribunal is a neutral and independent body committed to holding fair, transparent and efficient hearings and making timely, understandable and well-reasoned decisions. Our panels are made up of five members with varying experiences and backgrounds, bringing together physicians, members of the public selected by the government and individuals with expertise in conducting formal legal hearings. This diversity of skills and backgrounds strengthens the panel.

The Tribunal launched on September 1, 2021, introducing multiple enhancements to how we do our work, which we will continue to improve. We are always open to feedback from stakeholders, including our Practice Advisory Group that brings together lawyers who represent CPSO and physicians. If you have feedback you’d like to share about our processes or services, please don’t hesitate to contact us.
